Canine Handler and Operational Leader

With over 10 years of experience in wilderness search and rescue and a professional background as a critical care and emergency room nurse, Katie brings a unique skill set to every mission. Katie’s nursing career has provided her with a deep understanding of emergency medical response and patient management in high-pressure situations. As a former member of New England K9 Search Rescue and MARK9, Katie has participated in many searches as a K9 handler as well as an operational leader, executive board member and treasurer.

Katie has trained and certified two German Shepherd dogs. Both K9’s have had successful finds in various disciplines as well as taken part in demos to bring safety and awareness to children of many ages. Katie’s dedication, combined with her expertise in both medical care and SAR, ensures that every mission is handled with professionalism, compassion, and precision.
